Peltigera didactyla ("alternating dog-lichen") on mossy soil , north shore of Lake Superior, Ontario. The pale, powdery spots are soralia, where cells of cyanobacteria wrapped in threads of fungus are available to be dispersed for non-sexual reproduction.
